Truro is the only city in Cornwall. It is amongst the smallest cities in the country and is the most southerly in Great Britain.

The city sits on the confluence of three rivers: the Kenwyn, Allen and Fal which together run into the Carrick Roads, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Although there is some speculation that the name "Truro" stems from the derivation of the Cornish words for "Three" and "Rivers", this is unconfirmed.

Famed for its magnificent cathedral, Truro grew as an important centre of trade around its port and reminders of its maritime heritage can be seen along the waterside. The city is resplendent with open spaces, parks and beautiful Georgian architecture and is surrounded by a number of protected natural areas, historic parklands and large areas of ornamental landscape.

Truro has benefited from significant investment in recent years and is now a vibrant centre for both business and leisure.

Those here on business will appreciate the central location and ease of access to local companies, major Cornish towns and arterial roads linking the county. Our leisure visitors will enjoy the wide variety of activities available within the city and its environs.
